WISES
Intelligent solutions in embedded systems have an increasing penetration in many segments of the IT market. Typically, these systems vary from deeply integrated systems with specific support tasks (e.g. multi-media stream processing) up to stand-alone embedded systems (e.g., wireless sensor networks). Embedded systems require new and innovative solutions in order to meet the strong requirements with respect to cost, size, power consumption, real-time compliance, and security at the same time. Specifically, the role of the embedded software becomes crucial to provide flexible and dynamically reconfigurable systems. Efficient porting of embedded software to different hardware platforms remains a key issue to reuse code and to provide new devices on time.
WISES 2007 is a platform to present innovative approaches that provide intelligent solutions in embedded systems. The objective of this workshop is to present mature approaches and to provide a forum to exchange and discuss ideas, and, thus, to share experiences among researchers, professionals, and application developers both from industry and academia. Original papers addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of embedded systems are solicited. Papers describing prototype implementations and deployment of embedded systems are particularly welcome.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Smart embedded (real-time) systems
- Autonomous embedded systems
- Sensor networks and sensor node hardware/software platforms
- Software for embedded systems
- Topology control and time synchronization
- Fault tolerance, security and robustness
- Network protocols and middleware for embedded systems
- Standardisation of embedded software components
- Data gathering, aggregation and dissemination
- Prototypes, applications, field studies, and testbeds

Registration
It is mandatory, that at least one author of the paper will pre-register to the conference, so that the presentation in the event is guaranteed. Otherwise, the paper will not be included either in the program or in the proceedings.
A pre-registration formular is available for download in DOC format and Adobe PDF format. This form can be used by authors and participants. All registrations include the participation to the workshop, workshop material (proceedings, CD), lunch on June 22, coffee-breaks and wokshop dinner on June 21. Please send your confirmation of the registration via fax to +34 916248781, you may send a scanned version of the form via email to wises@inv.it.uc3m.es
For each accepted paper, the authors or one authorized author should download this copyright form, sign it and send it via fax to +34 916248781 or a scanned version of the form via email to wises@inv.it.uc3m.es before May 15, 2007.
^ TOPPublishing information
Accepted papers will be published in printed proceedings. The papers will be made accessible via world-wide web and via IEEE Digital Library. A selection of the papers will be included in the post-proceedings volume, published by Springer in the LNCS series (pending approval). Each paper must be presented by one of the authors at the workshop. The workshop is supported by the IEEE Spain Section, the IEEE Austria Section and the German Chapter of the IEEE Society for Computational Intelligence.
