CareVolutionAI – Kick-off Meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reichenau\/Konstanz, 20 June 2025<\/em> \u2013 Representatives from all partner institutions celebrated today the official kick-off of a new cross-border health innovation initiative funded through the Interreg programme. The CareVolutionAI project utilizes an advanced combination of 3D sensor technology and artificial intelligence specifically designed for the needs of care facilities. At the heart of the technology is a room-based 3D sensor that contactlessly records movements and behavioral patterns in the resident\u2019s room. The aim is to detect critical situations at an early stage and provide targeted support to care staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting marked the beginning of an ambitious project aimed at enhancing elderly care services and establishing a sustainable digital collaboration framework among partners in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The session began with a welcoming address from the project leader Dr. Urs Guggenb\u00fchl from novoviam and a short round of introductions, setting the tone for a collaborative and forward-looking meeting. A brief status update on contractual and documentation matters was presented by the programme management team, ensuring all parties were aligned on administrative progress within the Interreg framework.
The overarching project goals and timeframes were outlined, providing clarity on expected deliverables and milestones. This was followed by a progress report from Michael Brandst\u00f6tter (cogvis software und consulting GmbH) on roll-outs from key care partners \u2014 BENEVIT Die Vorarlberger Pflegegesellschaft, ZfP S\u00fcdw\u00fcrttemberg, and CURAVIVA Thurgau \u2014 each highlighting their implementation status and early field observations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Dr. Ralf Seepold from HTWG Konstanz took the stage at noon to present the current status and planning of surveys and preparatory studies. Their contribution includes both a technical functionality study and a detailed needs assessment to ensure the solutions developed will be responsive to real-world demands in long-term care. Prof. Seepold resumed with an update on the ethical framework and approval process for the project.
Ensuring responsible innovation and compliance with cross-border regulatory frameworks is a core component of the project\u2019s foundation. The final segment focused on general project management. Topics included the agreement to a joint project logo, the setup of internal communication tools, and the initiation of coordination meetings. Additionally, the partners discussed the strategic communication plan, including external news coverage and the upcoming launch of the project\u2019s official website. With stakeholders aligned and roles clearly defined, the project enters its first active phase, focusing on system deployment, stakeholder engagement, and cross-border knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
